LaShanda Turenne's Story

When I first came to City Hope, it was the last week in May of 2023. I was discouraged, disappointed, and simply done with the thought of becoming involved in a church. They showed me so much Grace and Mercy; it literally shocked me for weeks. After what I had experienced previously, I had lost Hope and started to believe that the culture of the church was simply to pretend to be kind and merciful. As I looked around, seeing how much labor and love it took, how much people are committed to me and everyone else experiencing freedom, the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a way I hadn’t heard in a long time: “Use your freedom to serve one another in love.”

As I give this testimony, I am more thankful for how God is working through City Hope and everyone who is committed to serving in love. To show the world that we can authentically Love God, Love People, and Give Hope. I’m no longer a slave to fear. I can say my joy has been made full and is overflowing. I now realize that God was using City Hope as a place of healing for not just me but many others.

Dylan & Morgan Cummins

Dylan attended the Freedom Conference. I attended as an intercessor. We both left Saturday night charged up, different, and on fire. We would lay awake talking about our experience, about how God had moved in our lives in those two days. Something was different.
